It is necessary most of all for one who is fasting to curb anger, to accustom himself to meekness and condescension, to have a contrite heart, to repulse impure thoughts and desires, to examine his conscience, to put his mind to the test and to verify what good has been done by us in this or any other week, and which deficiency we have corrected in ourselves in the present week. This is true fasting.

On November 29, 2009, a week after the consecration of the Church of
St. Job of Pochaev, the newly installed iconostas was blessed upon the
completion of the Divine Liturgy. The iconostas is a gift to Holy
Trinity Monastery by Ekaterina Vladimirovna Anisimova and her husband,
Vasilii Vasilievich Anisimov.  It was carved by Andrei Vukolov in
Russia. May St. Job of Pochaev bless the donors for the love and honor
they showed to St Job of Pochaev. In the prayer behind the ambon we
read, "sanctify those who love the beauty of thy House".  May these
words serve as a reminder to all of us to the love we should all have
for the beauty of the Church to the glory of God.
