On May 2, the Orthodox Church commemorated the feast of Mid-Pentecost, the half-way point between Pascha and Pentecost. This was a feast in the Old Testament Church.
As is traditional, water was blessed in the monastery. At the end of the Divine Liturgy, there was a Cross procession from the cathedral to the well, headed up by Igumen Theophylact, joined by other monastery clergy. Our abbot, Archimandrite Luke, served at the new women’s community in West Winfield and blessed water there.
Adding to the joy of this service was the beautiful weather, finally enjoyed by the brotherhood after a very long and late winter.
