Incredible as it might seem, fifteen years have gone by since the repose of our beloved archpastor and abbot, Metropolitan Laurus, on March 16.
This year, our Metropolitan Nicholas came to the monastery to preside at a pannikhida served by him and many clergy in the monastery cathedral. It should be pointed out that our new metropolitan served as a cell attendant for Metropolitan Laurus and also as a deacon, during his many trips all over the world, visiting parishes throughout the Russian Church Abroad.
Vladyka Metropolitan also treated the brethren and seminarians with a “mercy meal” in memory of Vladyka Laurus, before the pannikhida.
With the Lord there is no time, and for us who knew Metropolitan Laurus, his memory will always be very special for us as our long-time abbot and rector, who did so much for the monastery, the seminary and for the entire Orthodox Church with his wise and loving archpastoral care and diligence.
May the Lord provide him eternal rest and joy in the habitat of the saints!
Eternal memory, dear Vladyka.
