Feast of the Beheading of Saint John the Baptist
Feast of the Beheading of Saint John the Baptist

The monastery is blessed to have a relic from the head of St. John the Baptist, gifted to the brotherhood still in Slovakia.

On this day, His Grace Bishop Luke presided at the Divine Liturgy after the All-Night Vigil being served the evening before.  It is also traditional on this day to especially commemorate the Orthodox warriors who gave their lives for the sake of the Tsar, the Fatherland and Holy Orthodoxy.

The liturgy was followed by a strictly Lenten meal in the refectory.
