On the feast of Saints Peter and Paul, July 12 (N.S.), which also was a Sunday this year, the monastery brotherhood had the joy of the tonsure to the sub deaconate of one of our own, Monk Paisios. He was tonsured during the Hours by our abbot, His Grace, Bishop Luke.
Fr. Paisios, originally from Siberia, came to us a few years ago from Cincinnati, where he left a very good impression, in part due to his construction skills. Here in our monastery he has a number of obediences. He is in charge of the beehives and has continuously helped out the monastery with is building skills. He also, along with Sub Deacon Monk Theodore, bakes the monastery bread and prosphora for the Divine Liturgy. Besides this, Fr. Paisios has been our bell ringer and reads and sings in the monastery divine services.
We pray that the Lord strengthen Fr. Paisios in his many obediences and service to the monastery and the Holy Church.
