Visit to Monastery of His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas
While celebrating his 50th birthday at the Monastery our Metropolitan was informed of the sad news of his father Alexander’s repose. The funeral of the newly reposed one was held in New Jersey. The burial was to be held here on Sunday, December 22, so Vladyka returned to the monastery and led the Sunday divine Liturgy with our Abbot, His Grace Bishop Luke.
After the liturgy, our bishops had lunch in the Monastery trapeza and at 1 PM, they served together a pannikhida in the cathedral for the soul of the newly departed Alexander. After the pannikhida, the newly reposed Alexander was laid to rest next to his wife, Evdokia in the Monastery cemetery.
We express to Vladyka our sincere condolences upon the repose of his beloved father.
