This year’s seminary celebration of its patronal feast of the Three Hierarchs was especially joyous as we were blessed with the presence of the Hawaiian Myrrh-Streaming Icon of Iveron. Added to this was the presence of three of our bishops, who thus symbolized the patron saints, Basil the Great, Gregory the Theologian and John Chrysostom. Our bishops who presided at the services were His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas, His Eminence Archbishop Gabriel of Montreal and Canada and our own Bishop Luke.
Due to the presence of the icon, the church was filled with pilgrims for both the Vigil and the Divine Liturgy on the feast itself. After the consecration of the Holy Gifts, Vladyka Gabriel performed the ordination of Subdeacon John Rosner from the Province of Alberta, Canada to the diaconate, who will be serving in an English-speaking mission.
After the liturgy, all were invited to partake of the brotherhood trapeza, which was followed by a reception in honor of the seminary’s feast.
